The Twilight Tour

by Eric Chang on November 5, 2008

It’s nighttime. You’re commuting home from work. There’s an A-frame at the intersection. Perhaps an agent forgot to pick it up after the Sunday open house?

There may a Twilight Tour going on. These special showings — quite prevalent in The City — are growing in popularity in the East Bay. Basically, they’re open houses that happen during the evening, usually intended as a convenience for buyers unable to visit weekend afternoon open houses. Sometimes, with special¬†preparation, Twilight Tours are good invitation-only events to promote new listings to neighbors.

I do arrange Twilight Tours for my listings, but I also advise my sellers that they make sense on a case by case basis. Nighttime tours may be disruptive for owner-occupied property. And depending on neighborhood traffic, visibility and safety issues, we decide whether to do them.
